Geauga Teen Statistics
Geauga TPP surveys 6 school districts each year to determine program impact and student needs.
During the first 5 years of TPP the teen birth rate went down steadily, and factors such as age of first intercourse went up.
Recently, however, TPP has seen some troubling signs that that is changing, and we need parents to know the facts:

For Juniors, the average age of first intercourse has dropped below 15 ½ years old for the first time in 3 years.

56% of seniors report being sexually active, as well as 45% of juniors

The number of sexually active students has climbed 2 of the past 3 years.

In the last 2 years there were 17 reported STD’s in our high schools, and 14 pregnancies.

AND for students who choose to have sex, 44-60% say that they regret their decision
Sexual decisions are about a lot more that using protection. Most didn’t get an STD or pregnant but most regretted it. Tell your kids know why before they make a decision.
